American Gao Kao Admission Consortium Announces Official Admission Bulletin for 2019 Chinese Gao Kao students

March 7, 2019. Officially established in February 2019, the Gao Kao Admission Consortium (GKAC) has released Gao Kao Admission Bulletins for its five core institutions. GKAC strategically focuses on the use of Gao Kao scores for admission to U.S. higher education institutions. Recruiting in China as a Consortium, GKAC recruits from the 10 million Chinese Gao Kao student pool and will admit its first cohort in Fall 2019 into the U.S. higher education system. GKAC will provide best practice strategies as well as long-term success data from its initial cohort and beyond. GKAC is currently comprised of five core partner institutions: California State University-Fresno, Western New England University, Santiago Canyon College, the University of Hawaii-Kapiolani Community College, and the University of North Texas.

To increase campus diversity in a global community, the GKAC institutions have established opportunities for high performing Gao Kao track students to receive conditional admission offers in as early as March 2019 for Fall 2019 matriculation in the U.S. Students will be required to achieve Gao Kao scores in the Top 25% of their province in order to qualify for admission and scholarship opportunities. Flexible admissions requirements for Gao Kao students demonstrate these institutions’ progressive understanding of holistic admissions evaluations for an international population base.

WholeRen LLC, headquartered in Pittsburgh PA, will facilitate this institutional effort and has established the GKAC main office in Beijing. Informed by WholeRen’s Gao Kao recruitment initiative with the University of New Hampshire in 2018 (the first U.S. flagship research institution to accept Gao Kao scores for admission), GKAC will recruit collectively from the Gao Kao student pool in China with an official GKAC streamlined process.

WholeRen service centers in Beijing, Chengdu, Guangzhou, and Chongqing will support student inquiries and applications to any of the partner institutions. The GKAC China Office is located at Finance Fortune Tower, Suite A-1901, 18 Xizhimen Wai St, Xicheng Dist, Beijing.
